The commercial vehicle manufacturer delivered higher revenue and profit despite absorbing a significant one-time charge, underscoring resilient underlying business momentum.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The company posted consolidated net profit of about <strong>\u20b9796 crore for the quarter ended December 2025<\/strong>, representing roughly <strong>4\u20135% year-on-year growth<\/strong> compared with the same period last year. Revenue from operations rose by approximately <strong>22% to over \u20b911,500 crore<\/strong>, driven largely by strong domestic and export demand.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Volume-led growth boosts performance<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Ashok Leyland\u2019s operational performance reflected healthy industry conditions. Medium and heavy commercial vehicle (MHCV) volumes increased <strong>23% year-on-year to 32,929 units<\/strong>, while light commercial vehicle (LCV) volumes climbed <strong>30% to 20,518 units<\/strong>. Export shipments also advanced <strong>20% to 4,965 units<\/strong>, highlighting improving traction in overseas markets.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The company noted that its domestic MHCV market share remained above <strong>30%<\/strong>, with around <strong>40% share in the bus segment<\/strong>, signaling sustained competitive strength in core categories.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Margins expand as operating leverage improves<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation (EBITDA) rose <strong>27% to \u20b91,535 crore<\/strong>, with margins improving to <strong>13.3% from 12.8%<\/strong> a year earlier. The quarter marked the company\u2019s <strong>12th consecutive period of double-digit EBITDA margins<\/strong>, reflecting cost discipline and operating leverage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Profit before tax grew <strong>38% to \u20b91,373 crore<\/strong>, further illustrating the strength of core operations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>However, profitability was partly weighed down by a <strong>one-time \u20b9308 crore charge related to the new Labour Code<\/strong>, which the company said was incorporated into the reported earnings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Demand environment remains supportive<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Management attributed the performance to favorable macroeconomic conditions and improving freight demand.
