UltraTech Cement’s consolidated revenue in Q1FY23 rose 28% to ₹15,163.98 crore as against ₹11,830 crore reported in Q1FY22. Consolidated net sales came at ₹15,007 crore as compared to ₹11,698 crore over the corresponding period of the previous year. Profit before interest, depreciation and tax was at ₹3,204 crore compared to ₹3,512 crore. The company also appointed Kailash Chandra Jhanwar as Managing Director of the company.
“After a strong end to FY22, cement demand was impacted by overall inflationary trends and lower labour availability in May 2022. However, cement demand picked up in June 2022 on pre-monsoon construction activity,” the Aditya Birla group firm said in a regulatory filing to the BSE.
