Interglobe Aviation Limited (NSE: INDIGO), operating under the brand name IndiGo, is the largest airline in India by passenger numbers and fleet size. The company was founded in 2006 by Rahul Bhatia of InterGlobe Enterprises and Rakesh Gangwal, a former CEO of US Airways. IndiGo’s low-cost carrier model has helped it grow rapidly and become a leader in the Indian aviation industry.

IndiGo operates scheduled flights to over 60 destinations in India and international destinations across Asia and the Middle East. The company’s revenue streams include passenger ticket sales, cargo services, and charter services. In addition, IndiGo also generates revenue from ancillary services such as in-flight meals, seat selection, excess baggage charges, and other services. For the quarter ended December 31, 2022, IndiGo reported a net profit of ₹1,422.6 crore, a significant improvement from ₹129.78 crore in the same period last year. The airline’s Revenue from operations for the quarter was ₹14,933 crore, up 60.7% from the same quarter in the previous year.

The airline’s passenger load factor for the quarter was 85.1%, reflecting an improvement in demand from the previous quarter. The airline’s available seat kilometers (ASKs) increased by 25.3% YoY, while the revenue passenger kilometers (RPKs) increased by 33.8% YoY.
