Earnings Summary Of Godfrey Phillips India Limited For Q3 FY23

Godfrey Phillips India Limited (NSE: GODFRYPHLP) is a leading cigarette manufacturer in India, with a rich history that dates back to 1936. The company is part of the global tobacco giant, the Phillips Morris Group, and has a strong presence in the Indian market.

In terms of earnings, Revenue from Operations for Q3 FY23 was ₹1,112.04 crore, a 28% increased from ₹867.23 crore in the same period last year. The company’s product portfolio includes a wide range of cigarette brands, including Four Square, Red & White, Cavanders, and Tipper, among others. These brands cater to various segments of the market, from premium to economy. The Cigarettes, Tobacco and related Products segment generated a total of ₹1,000.45 Crore in revenue, or 90% of the total. This segment increased by 30% from the previous year up from ₹770.76 Crore. 

The Retail Products segment accounts for ~9% of revenue in Q3 FY23. A total of ₹109.34 Crore were contributed by the segment, a slight boost of 12% from the same quarter last year. The Others segment, which reported revenue of ₹2.25 Crore, accounted for the remaining of the overall Revenue. The Consolidated Net Profit was ₹187.04 crore, up 60% from ₹116.87 crore in the same quarter last year. This quarter’s earnings per share was ₹38.32.
