BASF India Limited(NSE: BASF): Q3 FY23 Results Out; Total Income fell 12% YoY

BASF India Limited(NSE: BASF) is a subsidiary of the German chemical company, BASF SE. It was established in the year 1865 and is headquartered in Mumbai, India. The company offers a wide range of products and solutions in the fields of chemicals, performance products, functional materials & solutions, and agricultural solutions. Some of its popular products include construction chemicals, polymer dispersions, pigments, coatings, and plant protection solutions. BASF India operates in various sectors such as automotive, construction, textiles, and agriculture, among others. BASF India Limited has reported financial result for the period ended December 31, 2022, the company reported a total income of Rs. 2910.08 crores, which is lower than the total income of Rs. 3592 crores during the period ended September 30, 2022. The total income of Rs. 2910.08 crores for the period ended December 31, 2022 was also lower than the total income of Rs. 3298.28 crores for the same period in the previous year. However, for the 9 months period ended December 31, 2022, the company reported a total income of Rs. 10393.16 crores, which is higher than the total income of Rs. 9723.18 crores for the same period in the previous year.

The company posted a net profit of Rs. 10.64 crores for the period ended December 31, 2022, which is significantly lower than the net profit/ of Rs. 113.11 crores for the period ended September 30, 2022. The net profit/loss of Rs. 10.64 crores for the period ended December 31, 2022 was also lower than the net profit of Rs. 110.37 crores for the same period in the previous year. However, for the 9 months period ended December 31, 2022, the company reported a net profit of Rs. 320.5 crores, which is lower than the net profit/loss of Rs. 444.99 crores for the same period in the previous year.

Earnings per share (EPS): The company reported EPS of Rs. 2.5 for the period ended December 31, 2022, which is significantly lower than the EPS of Rs. 26.1 for the period ended September 30, 2022. The EPS of Rs. 2.5 for the period ended December 31, 2022 was also lower than the EPS of Rs. 23.3 for the same period in the previous year. However, for the 9 months period ended December 31, 2022, the company reported EPS of Rs. 74, which is lower than the EPS of Rs. 100.6 for the same period in the previous year.

In conclusion, BASF India has reported a decrease in total income, net profit/loss, and EPS for the period ended December 31, 2022 as compared to the period ended September 30, 2022. However, the company has reported an increase in total income for the 9 months period ended December 31, 2022 as compared to the same period in the previous year.
