Adani Wilmar Limited(NSE: AWL) is an Indian FMCG company that provides edible oil, vanaspati, and specialty fats. The company’s product portfolio spans three categories: (1) Edible oil including Fortune and masstige brands; (2) Packaged food and FMCG including Fortune, Jubilee, and Golden Chef; (3) Industry essentials including oleochemicals, castor oil, and stearic acid and glycerine. The company has 22 plants across 10 states in India and 5,590 distributors in 28 states. Adani Wilmar Limited, an edible oil firm, recorded a 16% growth in volume and 7% growth in revenue in Q3FY23. The food & FMCG segment, a new growth engine for the company, contributed 15% of the overall sales and showed a 27% growth in volume. The Basmati Rice category, with the re-launched “Kohinoor” brand, showed strong growth and crossed Rs 100 crore in revenue. The edible oil segment also showed strong growth with a 50% YoY increase in mustard oil volume. The company maintained its leadership position in castor oil exports and had a strong growth in its alternate channel (e-commerce, modern trade, etc.).
The CEO noted that the company is leveraging its existing distribution network to grow rapidly in the food & FMCG business and expanding its product portfolio. The standalone volume in Q3 grew 17% leading to a 23% growth in EBITDA and 15% growth in PAT. The consolidated revenue in Q3 was Rs 15,438 crore and standalone revenue was Rs 14,714 crore, with EBITDA of Rs 623 crore and PAT of Rs 277 crore.
