AlphaBites are real-time bite-sized market moving information created by our editorial team from company news releases, investment related data, research, and crowd knowledge. All the published bites are tagged by $ and ticker symbol, known as cash tags, making them easily available and relevant. Bites are created in an easy to consume format and presented in common-person speak. Currently, there are seven types of bites we publish on the site. They are Announcements, SEC, Webcasts, Research Reports, Hot News, Calendar, and Video News.

AlphaTalk provides a platform to you to engage with your peers and experts to discuss and validate your investment idea. It allows you to engage in real-time community talk, share content, or get expert opinion.

Events section provides a comprehensive set of event dates for US-based publicly listed companies. Connections help you to connect with like-minded peers, friends, and experts to discuss your ideas, get insights from experts to augment your research. The platform also uses the connections to show appropriate notifications from your network and to surface the most appropriate content that best fits your profile.

The more information you enter in your profile, the more connections you have, more active you are on AlphaStreet, and the better you integrate your portfolios between AlphaStreet and your brokerage/s, the algorithm will generate more relevant ‘Stocks you may like’ for you. This is a great way to discover new investment opportunities for your portfolio.

What is ‘AlphaBites you may like’?

The platform will show you AlphaBites of your ‘Stocks you may like’ to enable you to quickly get the latest information.

What is the bull/bear sentiment?

It is a social sentiment indicator which helps users to measure the prevailing and future attitude of the investors regarding a particular stock. The platform analyzes the Wall Street sentiment and AlphaStreet crowd sentiment, which enables you to understand the mood of the professionals and the masses. The amount of bull and bear you see signifies how much the sentiment is positive or negative for a particular equity.

Can I buy shares via AlphaStreet?

AlphaStreet is not a broker dealer, however in an effort to become a one stop place for all your investment decision making, we provide a feature that will enable you to trade using your existing broker. We have partnered with TradeIT, who provides the technology that allows you to send buy/sell orders to your brokerage in a safe and a convenient way. Your brokerage information is always fully encrypted and never stored. You can use this feature to securely buy or sell shares with the broker of your choice.

AlphaStreet creates information in-house to enable you to make better investing decisions. We have also partnered with many reputed data partners for sourcing data on our site to enable you to get all your information at one place. We source data from Xignite, Intrinio and S&P Capital IQ, just to name a few.

Do you cover all equities in the world?

Currently we cover publicly listed companies based in US. We are a new startup and have prioritized various features to launch with. Our launch includes many features that other start-ups or established companies take years to offer. We are launching with quite a few features that we think you find very useful in becoming a better informed investor. In near future, we will expand into covering mutual funds, ETFs and global equities.

AlphaStreet is a social network that enables you to discover, validate, research and execute your decisions. What is the difference between Connections and Followers?

When you connect with another person, it is a two-way communication where you can interact and see updates from each other. While we are a social network, we take our sharing responsibility very seriously. We want you to get the best out of AlphaStreet and hope that it will help you make better decisions. We don’t share your financial information with anyone, so your connections or followers will never know your financial information, investment totals and net worth. We do however, share the type of instruments you hold, buy and sell to make the network a better place for all.

What is the difference between portfolio and watch list?

Portfolio is the list of stocks you actually own. This will give you a snapshot of the equities you own, how much you paid for them and what they are worth now. Watchlist is a list of stocks that you are interested in and want to monitor before you make a purchasing decision.
