Real estate investment trust $VTR reported a lower 2Q16 profit, hurt by costs. The company reported earnings of $143.33, or $0.42 per share, compared with earnings of $149.82, or $0.45 per share a year ago. NAREIT FFO for the quarter fell 10% to $1.04 due to a spin-off. Costs rose 4% to $723MM.
