Semiconductors supplier $SMTC's 2Q17 net sales rose versus 2Q16, mainly due to higher demand from high-end consumer and industrial end markets. 2Q17 shipments into Asia represented 73% of total net sales, North America 19% and Europe 8%. GAAP GM was 60.2% and GAAP tax rate was 37% in the quarter.
