Independent power producer $TLN reported higher 1Q16 results, helped by higher operating revenue and lower operating expenses. $TLN said net income rose 57.29% to $151MM, or $1.17 per share from $96MM, or $1.15 per share a year ago. Operating revenue rose 7.51% to $1.17Bil for the quarter.

$WFC agreed to hike its payout in a class-action settlement over unauthorized accounts by $32 million to $142 million for its retail sales practices. The settlement will now include customers who were impacted as early as May 2002.
