Retail Sales: The US Census Bureau announced today that advance estimates of US retail and food services for June 2015, adjusted for seasonal variation and holiday and trading-day differences, but not for price changes, were $442Bil, a decrease of 0.3% from the previous month, but up 1.4% above June 2014.
$SBUX launched its annual “Starbucks for Life” competition in the U.S. and Canada. The winner of the competition will receive a credit of one drink or food item per day for a duration of 30 years.
$T shares rose 1.8%, as a big boost for the S&P 500. The company said its new streaming television service DirectTV has so far exceeded expectations.
