Railroad operator $GWR reported its traffic volumes for Feb. 2016 rose by 79,529 carloads, or 54.8%, to 224,656 carloads from last year. Same-railroad traffic fell by 4,160 carloads, or 2.9%, to 140,967 carloads. North American Operations traffic slid 2% on reduced coal and coke traffic, partially offset by increased metals traffic.
