For the week ended Dec. 5, the unadjusted advance number of actual initial claims under state programs was 384,481 compared to 262,628 initial claims in the prior week. The unadjusted number jumped by 46.4% or 121,853 from the previous week. The seasonal factors had expected an increase of 103,867 or 39.5% from the prior week.
