During 1Q17, $SJM's adjusted gross profit fell at a slower rate than sales resulting in a 160 BP improvement in GM to 39.6%. YoverY GM expansion was realized by all of the reportable segments, most notably for Coffee. The company said that overall commodity costs were lower driven by green coffee, mostly offsetting the lower net pricing.
