Electric utility company $AEP reported a jump in 2Q16 earnings driven by strategic investment in its regulated businesses as well as higher revenue. Net income rose to $502.1MM or $1.02 per share from $430MM or $0.88 per share last year. Revenue grew to $3.9Bil from $3.8Bil. Operating EPS increased to $0.95 from $0.88.
