Office furniture and fireplaces maker $HNI reported a rise in 1Q16 earnings driven by higher operating margins in both its office furniture and hearth products segments. Net income rose to $11.84MM or $0.26 per share from $8.48MM or $0.19 per share last year. Net sales fell to $501.04MM from $523.48MM. Non-GAAP EPS increased to $0.31 from $0.21.
