Insurer $MET reported a rise in 1Q16 earnings driven by volume growth and solid underwriting results. Net income rose to $2.2Bil or $1.98 from $2.13Bil or $1.87 per share last year. Operating revenues fell to $16.61Bil from $17.03Bil, due to lower net investment income and other revenues. Operating EPS decreased to $1.20 from $1.44.
