The nation's fourth-biggest airline $LUV reported a 34.9% jump in 2Q16 earnings driven by higher revenues and low fuel prices, despite a competitive fare environment. Net income rose to $820MM or $1.28 per share from $608MM or $0.90 per share last year. Operating revenues grew by 5.3% to $5.38Bil. Non-GAAP EPS increased to $1.19 from $1.03.
