Food company $TSN posted higher earnings in 3Q16 due to increased operating income results experienced in its Chicken and Pork segments. Net income was $484MM or $1.25 per diluted share vs. $343MM or $0.83 per diluted share in 3Q15. Sales fell 6.6% to $9.4Bil vs. $10Bil in 3Q15, hurt by lower sales volumes in its Chicken and Pork segments.

$WFC agreed to hike its payout in a class-action settlement over unauthorized accounts by $32 million to $142 million for its retail sales practices. The settlement will now include customers who were impacted as early as May 2002.
