$DUK, the largest US power company by generation capacity, registered 27% drop in its 3Q15 profit. Net income attributable to $DUK was $932MM or $1.35 per share for the quarter against $1.27Bil or $1.80 per share in the year-ago quarter. However, net income from continuing operations for the quarter rose 5.5% YoverY to $940MM or $1.36 per share.
$SBUX launched its annual “Starbucks for Life” competition in the U.S. and Canada. The winner of the competition will receive a credit of one drink or food item per day for a duration of 30 years.
$T shares rose 1.8%, as a big boost for the S&P 500. The company said its new streaming television service DirectTV has so far exceeded expectations.
